We don’t know enough about the impact our clothing has on people and our planet. Once you start digging, it’s shocking to learn how unsustainable the current system in Fashion Industry is. Second to oil, fashion and textiles is the most polluting industry in the world.
In the past, brands could use opacity in their manufacturing processes as a way to build mystique and desirability, but consumers live in a world that demands and expects transparency.
The future belongs to those who believe in progress. And progress comes via innovation. Innovating to build a better future, to make better products, to buy better, to consider the environment and those around us.
Fashion Revolution: Mission
We believe transparency is the first step to transform the industry. And it starts with one simple question:
Who made my clothes?
We believe in a fashion industry that values people, the environment, creativity and profit in equal measure.Fashion Revolution
We want to unite people and organizations to work together towards radically changing the way our clothes are sourced, produced and consumed, so that our clothing is made in a safe, clean and fair way.
We believe that collaborating across the whole value chain — from farmer to consumer — is the only way to transform the industry.
Our mission is to bring everyone together to make that happen.
Fashion Revolution is a global movement that has a mission to encourage those who are on a journey to create a more ethical and sustainable future for fashion, through bold and provocative campaigns.
There are people in countries such as Uzbekistan, Cambodia, Bangladesh and India who are forced to work against their will. Live in poverty, unable to afford life’s basic necessities. Many are subject to exploitation, verbal and physical abuse, working in unsafe conditions, with very little pay.
Our clothes have gone on a long journey before they hit store shelves, passing through the hands of cotton farmers, spinners, weavers dyers, sewers.
As consumers we have to think about the made in labels sewn on our clothes. In fact, clothes are made of untold stories woven into the fabrics. Stories that we wear every day and that believe are worth to be shared.
Transparency with industry peers and consumers called as an essential point.
It is about linking our business operations and our sustainability goals. How we source; how we manufacture; how sell our products.
As curators and gatekeepers we need to speak our consumers’ language. What we mean, what we believe and how we can make the world better.
We love fashion. But we don’t want our clothes to exploit people or destroy our planet. We demand radical, revolutionary change.Fashion Revolution
